Tea & Tarot: The Elements in Tarot

Every month, adults and teens 13 and older are invited to come together with Youth Services Librarian and tarot enthusiast, Hannah, for a tea-fueled exploration of tarot cards and intuition. This fall, the AFL Tea & Tarot program is embarking on a 4-part journey through the elements and how they appear in the 78-card tarot deck. 56 cards make up the Minor Arcana, which is split into 4 suits: pentacles, swords, cups, and wands. Each of those suits is associated with one of 4 elements: earth, air, water, and fire. Each of the 12 zodiac signs is also associated with one of those 4 elements. We’ll use the zodiac seasons during which we meet to inform which elements we discuss! December’s meeting falls during Sagittarius season. Sagittarius, like the suit of wands, is associated with fire, so that’s where we’ll focus our exploration. Whatever level of experience you have with tarot, from total stranger to utter expert, you’re welcome here. We’ll still go over the basics and teach you how to read a simple 3-card spread for yourself while enjoying herbal tea!
