Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary — 345 Bone Hill Rd., Cummaquid, MA
Spend a year learning about the birds that spend time along the Cape Cod shoreline. Once a month meet a Mass Audubon naturalist at Long Pasture to focus on a unique subject: the basics of birding in January, owls at dusk in February, and courting woodcocks in March. The year continues with ospreys, warblers, nesting season, wading birds, shorebirds, fall migration, waterfowl, sea ducks, and gulls. Returning to the same salt marsh, meadows, and harbor edge through all twelve months, you'll build identification skills and learn to read the rhythm of bird movement on your own. Every meeting includes time outdoors on sanctuary trails in all weather. More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
