Please join us for the opening of the William Munroe Special Collections' exhibition "A Special Place to Live: Conantum at 75." This exhibition celebrates the first large-scale neighborhood development in Concord, Conantum, and its unique architecture and community. Architect Henry Moss will speak on the story of Conantum's origin and early development is interwoven with young families' emergence into a post-war world, a new approach to architecture and construction, and an alternative vision for housing in natural settings. Following this program, a brief reception will be held, made possible by the Concord Free Public Library Corporation, and all attendees are invited to visit the Munroe Gallery to visit the exhibition. Henry Moss lived near Conantum on Sudbury Road for thirty years. His background as an architect combines a passion for historic structures with advocacy for sensitive renewal of mid-century modern buildings. He practiced architecture in Britain for fifteen years before moving to the Boston area.
