Scratch is a free, beginner-friendly, block-based visual programming platform from MIT. Kids drag and drop colorful blocks to create interactive stories, games, and animations, making coding fun, intuitive, and accessible. Today we'll cover the basics of coding in Scratch and code a simple maze game and a simple avoid the sprite game. The Library has Chromebooks for use but participants are welcome to bring their own laptop if they'd like. This class is for kids in grades K-6 only. Registration is required. This class was funded by the Massachusetts Broadband Institute at the MassTech Collaborative under the Municipal Digital Equity Implementation Program. Funding was provided by Massachusetts ARPA State Fiscal Recovery Funds.
