Music made to heal people, played by a string band that improvises its way there. Gnawa musicians in Morocco play through the night to move a room from one state into another. Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, and Henry Grimes chased something similar through free jazz. Tony Leva puts both lineages in the same room for his Longy faculty debut. A modern string band, original compositions, and long stretches of free improvisation. Expect the evening to end somewhere nobody planned.
