Mobile Whinnies Read to a Pony for Families

Monday, October 19, 2026 · 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Town Common — 22 Center St., Burlington, MA

Kids ages 4-18 and their families are invited to meet one of the miniature horses from Mobile Whinnies! This local, non-profit group brings experiential learning opportunities for reading with horses and math with horses in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. We'll meet outside on the Town Common (closest to Sears St./Havoc the Dog side) to learn some horse facts, get your questions answered, and even read aloud to one of the ponies! Thank you to the sponsors with Mobile Whinnies for bringing this event to our library! Please wear close-toed shoes (ex. no sandals). Children will not be allowed to ride the ponies. Please register for only one session so we can accommodate as many families as possible. Within each time slot, kids will choose to first read a story to a pony or join the group for the horse presentation/Q&A/Meet and Greet, then have the chance to swap. All registrants will need to fill out a waiver in advance. For any questions, please email Julie the children's librarian at jburke@burlingtonpl.org. The rain date for this event will be Friday, October 23 at 4PM. We will update this post if we need to use the rain date.
