Brook Farm Historic Site — 670 Baker St., Boston, MA
Walk the same trails that Transcendentalist thinkers and Civil War soldiers once traveled, in the quiet of winter. Brook Farm, a National Historic Site in West Roxbury, offers approximately 2 miles of mostly flat, wooded terrain that draws a diverse mix of birds through the cold months. Guided by a naturalist, hike through the woods and wetlands in search of migrating ducks, White-throated Sparrows, Fox Sparrows, and other birds that have migrated down from colder northern climates. Don't miss this unique walk where the natural and human histories of the land come together. This program is offered free for members and nonmembers thanks to the Brook Farm Historic Group. This program takes place and meets at Brook Farm National Historic Site in West Roxbury, not at the Boston Nature Center. The route covers approximately 2 miles of mostly flat, wooded terrain, on surfaces that may be slippery from snow or ice at this time of year. In the event of severe weather conditions, the program may be cancelled or postponed. More details on what to bring and expect will be emailed to you ahead of the program.
