Join us for a day of art, performances, and family-friendly activities in celebration of Diwali! This ancient festival of lights is observed around the world by many cultures and religions. On Diwali, Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, and Jains—some of the world’s oldest religious groups—light a diya (oil lamp) with family and friends, celebrating the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. Catch music and dance, make art, tour the galleries of South Asian art, and more. Free Admission for Boston Family Days As part of Boston Family Days , K–12 students who live in Boston and their families can get free admission to Diwali. Learn about other opportunities the MFA offers to visit for free or reduced admission . And remember—kids up to age six always visit for free!
