With their lively jumping and loud chittering, grasshoppers are some of the most entertaining insects to watch, and toddlers agree! Start with free play between several grasshopper-themed activities including sensory bins, puzzles, and coloring, before settling in for a storybook reading and songs about grasshoppers. Then, head outside for a short walk to search for real grasshoppers in their wild homes. Make crafts to take home and learn a new way of noticing the small creatures underfoot. Enjoy a playful, relaxed opportunity to gently introduce your budding nature explorer to the outdoors while connecting with other caregivers. Meet in the Education Center. Please dress for the expected weather and wear comfortable shoes, as the program includes time outdoors.
