Bellingham Public Library — 100 Blackstone St., Bellingham, MA
Did you know that most wrapping paper is coated in dyes and glitter that make it not-recyclable? In the US alone, almost 3 billion pounds of wrapping paper are estimated to end up in landfills each year! This is not only wasteful, but it’s also wildly expensive: each year, Americans spend over $12.7 billion on gift wrap. Join us for this workshop where we will explore sustainable wrapping techniques that can reduce our carbon footprint and save us money! We will learn about fabric wrapping, tape-free folds, and natural decorative accents. We will repurpose kraft paper to create our own holiday wrapping paper that has a personalized touch. Stamps, paints, and other craft supplies will be provided. Patrons are encouraged to save the brown paper bags and the packing paper included as filler in your delivery boxes and bring it to the library, where there is a drop-off bin by the front door. This is a library program/event.
Free to attend. Ages 13–18.
