Build your reading confidence and skills with a session of reading to Gunner, a certified therapy dog, who wants to hear all of your favorite stories! Kids can sign up for a 15 minute block to read to our non-judgmental furry friend. Bring your own book or pick one out at the library! This is a great opportunity for emerging readers or readers who want to get practice reading out loud. Gunner is a 4 and a half year old black lab who loves to be pet, to play fetch, and to eat! He makes talking sounds when he's excited gaining him the nickname, "The Talker", and he holds multiple AKC titles in Rally Obedience and Tricks. Registration is required. Starting 5/13/25, registration for children's events with limited space opens two weeks before the event date. If you can’t attend after registering, please cancel or contact the library at least 48 hours in advance. No-shows will lose registration privileges for one month. Please also arrive on time.
