Join historian and archaeologist Joel Bohy for a closer look at the research behind Bullet Strikes From the First Day of the American Revolution . In 2013, Bohy began collaborating with conflict archaeologist Dr. Douglas Scott to better understand ammunition found during archaeological investigations of former battlegrounds. Their work soon expanded into live-fire research and the study of surviving battle-damaged structures and objects from April 19, 1775, ultimately leading to their book. From the Elisha Jones House in Concord, through Lexington, and to the Jason Russell House, Bohy and Scott carefully studied the surviving battle-damaged structures and bullet-struck objects. Using modern forensic techniques adapted for historical research and validated through live-fire testing, Bohy will reveal what this evidence tells us about the brutality of the fighting as British forces retreated from Concord toward the relative safety of Boston.
