Exercise your freedom to read during Banned Book Week! Around the country many titles for all ages have been banned or challenged at school and public libraries. Come by the Library side yard to pick a banned book to read or bring your own. We have some chairs, tables, and lots of books to choose from as well as some donuts in the morning. Come by and read for a few minutes or settle in and read for awhile. Families come and read aloud some banned books. We hope to have someone reading at all times in celebration of our freedom to read! If it is raining, this will happen inside the Library. Did you know that Massachusetts just passed the Freedom to Read Act which prevents certain types of book bans and protects libraries and librarians. Something to actually celebrate this year!
